AllFr8 Transload will be uniquely positioned with On-Port Access, Direct Rail Transloading, Technology solutions, and a key location at JAXPORT.

The AllFr8 Transload facility and service will offer Transloading Services, Rail Car Loading and Unloading, Container Import and Export Handling, Short-term Warehouse and Yard Storage, and Drayage, Maintenance and Container Yard.

Transloading, which is simply the transfer of cargo from international equipment to domestic equipment at the port, is becoming an increasingly appealing option for all the right reasons. With the traditional method, the ocean or dray carrier has to move the empty container back to the port after inland delivery, with the cost put back on the shipper. A port-centric transloading model utilizes containers more efficiently and provides significant savings to shippers by eliminating the return of empty containers to the port. Many customers are turning to supply chain experts to choose the most efficient and cost-effective mode of transport inland by putting freight on either a truck or the rails right at the port.

Cost savings is not the only benefit. More and more shippers are also interested in understanding and reducing their impact on the environment, and transloading helps meet that objective as well. With fewer miles being traveled by carriers returning empty containers to ports, less fuel is consumed and air emissions are reduced.

Another advantage of transloading is the flexibility it offers. Traditional methods require shippers to make last-mile distribution decisions 30 to 45 days in advance of delivery; with transloading, it’s possible to make last-minute adjustments regarding routing, ensuring delivery from any port to any final destination.
